1. Use a plain backdrop without clutter - In order to draw attention to your item and not your item’s surroundings, set up your item against a plain white or neutral backdrop. For shiny objects like jewelry, a black background works better. 

2. Use low lighting to prevent shadows and reflections - Reflections and shadows will cause your photos to be unclear and may force the buyer to look for the item elsewhere. Less use of the camera flash in well lit areas will give you better photos.

3. Fill the frame with the item - Avoid taking your photos too far away. This will cause your product to look small and viewing of your  item with be difficult especially if anything else is in the background. When you take a close-up pic, all eyes will be on the prize!

4. Capture all angles, details and blemishes - Buyers want to know exactly what they are paying for. Make sure your photos show what your product has to offer. Any faults as well as all the goodies and accessories the product might come with. Details are always a plus!
