Contact Info Not allowed

Hi Everyone!

From time to time there are listings on the site that displays contact information. While it is convenient, there are few cons to putting up your personal information so openly. Unfortunately, there are quite a few idlers and scammers on the internet. So to prevent getting unnecessary contact with individuals that are not serious buyers, it is best not to have phone numbers or email addresses in your listings. It can be frustrating at times and it is for your own safety that we ask that you not display your contact info.

As you should know, if there is a query on an item you are selling, a message can be left for you on your message board which you are able to respond to easily. Also, if your item has been sold, an email is sent to the buyer with a link to your contact information on the site and they will be able to call or email you at that time to make the necessary arrangements to get the item.

Being discreet with you contact information is a safety measure put in place for your protection. It is stated when doing up your listings: "Contact details are NOT allowed - Your auction will be removed if found to be in violation". We ask that you follow these procedures accordingly. Let's work together so that JamDeal can continue to be Jamaica's #1 online shopping website.

Apple VS Android for us in Jamaica

For those of you who are not into the ever-popular BlackBerry smartphones, there is Apple and/or Android!

The Apple versus Android war is heating up! The two companies are competing so closely in the mobile arena that it is hard to tell them apart at times. Which platform do you think offers the most goodies and best performance for the average smartphone lover? Here is a breakdown of some of the major features in the Apple iOS and Android worlds.

Apple's  iTunes has more than 13 million songs available to you and a wide selection of movies and TV shows. There are over 350,000 iPhone apps plus a few thousand more specifically for the iPad. Android had more than 100,000 apps in late 2010, that number has more likely gone up drastically since then. However, a recent study perceives that the Android market is growing at a rate that is three times faster than the iTunes App Store.

Hardware is of course the biggest differentiators for the two platforms. Apple currently has two new smartphone models, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S and also sells the iPod Touch and the iPad and iPad 2. Android on the other hand has nearly 40 Android phones available for sale with iPad-like Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Motorola Xoom and HTC Flyer as well as devices from LG, Toshiba, a new Galaxy Tab and many others.

Both Apple and Android are promoting the wonders of HTML 5 and the highly functional Web apps the new standard brings about. There are tons of goodies offered on the two platforms as well. Google's Android offers extensive voice commands for sending text messages, e-mail, placing phone calls, Web browsing, opening apps and searches. The iPhone's native voice commands include music playback controls and voice-activated dialing. Siri on the iPhone 4S  is very innovative. It lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back to you. Siri is so easy to use and does so much, you’ll keep finding more ways to utilize it.

There's a lot to love about Apple and Android, but feature for feature and app for app, it is often hard to distinguish which platform is more superior.

Why Are Feedbacks Important?

Hi JamDealers!

Everyone knows that while online shopping is easy and convenient it can be risky. To feel more at ease, it is best if you have some knowledge about who you are doing business with. Well, feedbacks are put in place to allow you to get to know your buyer or seller. Your feedback can be good, bad (let's hope not) or neutral, either way it's still a big help to other users.

Buyers, keep in mind that a sale does not have to go through for you to leave a feedback for a seller. Whatever your experience, feel free leave a feedback.

Sellers, you keep in mind that it's because of buyers why you are able to get your sales, so go ahead and leave them a feedback as well.

Feedbacks are scored as well as ranked so you can have an idea of the users reputation on the site.

Best Way to Tighten Your Budget in Jamaica

Let's be honest, times are hard and everyone is looking for ways to conserve and make the most of their hard earned money. There are a few practical ways that we can reduce our expenses and save some money and JamDeal would like to offer some tips on how to help tighten your budget.

Let's start with the simple everyday stuff:

Plan Your Snacks
We tend to do quite a bit of snacking and that is something we could consider cutting down on. Not that we should cut out our urge for some 'junk food' every now and then but for the sake of conserving, we need to discipline ourselves and eat proper meals to sustain ourselves until our next meal. You'll be surprise to know how much all the snacks we consume for one week alone can amount to.

Take Lunch to Work/School
Buying lunch everyday can become very costly. Try to take your lunch with you or give your children lunch to take to school. It could be something left over from dinner or even a sandwich. I guarantee you will see the difference in how much you spend after a period of time. The cost for lunch is approximately $300 per day! I'm sure you could do something else with that extra cash.

Shop Less Frequently
Yes, that's what I said. I know it's hard when you see something you want. But we need to try to do our major shopping at least once per month. Once you get the necessities out of the way you should not need to do much extra spending. We have to determine what is a 'need' from a 'want' in these times and put our 'needs' first.

Of course, if you have stuck to your budget and end up with a little extra cash, nothing is wrong if you give yourself a treat. I hope this article is helpful because we all need to find a way survive the cost of living.

And remember shopping on JamDeal is easy and convenient and you are able to get reasonably price items to help you stay within your budget.
