Best Way to Tighten Your Budget in Jamaica

Let's be honest, times are hard and everyone is looking for ways to conserve and make the most of their hard earned money. There are a few practical ways that we can reduce our expenses and save some money and JamDeal would like to offer some tips on how to help tighten your budget.

Let's start with the simple everyday stuff:

Plan Your Snacks
We tend to do quite a bit of snacking and that is something we could consider cutting down on. Not that we should cut out our urge for some 'junk food' every now and then but for the sake of conserving, we need to discipline ourselves and eat proper meals to sustain ourselves until our next meal. You'll be surprise to know how much all the snacks we consume for one week alone can amount to.

Take Lunch to Work/School
Buying lunch everyday can become very costly. Try to take your lunch with you or give your children lunch to take to school. It could be something left over from dinner or even a sandwich. I guarantee you will see the difference in how much you spend after a period of time. The cost for lunch is approximately $300 per day! I'm sure you could do something else with that extra cash.

Shop Less Frequently
Yes, that's what I said. I know it's hard when you see something you want. But we need to try to do our major shopping at least once per month. Once you get the necessities out of the way you should not need to do much extra spending. We have to determine what is a 'need' from a 'want' in these times and put our 'needs' first.

Of course, if you have stuck to your budget and end up with a little extra cash, nothing is wrong if you give yourself a treat. I hope this article is helpful because we all need to find a way survive the cost of living.

And remember shopping on JamDeal is easy and convenient and you are able to get reasonably price items to help you stay within your budget.
