The more things are forbidden, the more popular they become.

In the last post we looked at Policies that help to create structure on the Jamdeal site as well as to inform members of their rights. As a community, we strive to make the website as user friendly and appealing to as many different users as possible. Below are a list of items that are forbidden on the website.
Firearms: It is illegal to have a firearm without the proper documentation which would make it considered as "licensed". The sale of firearms on the website is strictly prohibited. Click Here to Read Firearms act as prepared by the Ministry of Justice in Jamaica.
Recreational Drugs: Drugs are illegal! You may not post any form of drug whether herbal or chemical. It is not to be sold on the website. This includes "happy pills" and so on. No form of street drugs should be pushed on the site. Remember, Jamdeal is a trading site not a place for contraband. If we find that any of these substances have been posted, they will be removed right away and the authorities will be contacted if necessary.
Tobacco: This is quite similar to the recreational drugs as mentioned above. No Tobacco or Tobacco based products should be sold on the site. In 2013 a policy on smoking in public spaces was passed. Read Article Here. Encouraging other members to "light up" a Tobacco is strictly frowned upon.
Unlicensed Music/ Movies: If you visit our entertainment section on the website, you will see a sub sub category for Music, DVDs and Movies. If you are planning on selling any of these, they must be authorized/licensed. Licensed means it is the official version, it bears the official logo, record label and so on. Going on a website like bear-share or a movie site to download a song or music is not considered as official. Believe it or not this is against the law, it might be prevalent in Jamaica but that does not make it right. People spend millions of dollars to get their material out to the public and when a person goes and get that information from a questionable source, they have all right to sue both parties. Let's not take that route for the safety of yourselves and the website.
Software that interfaces with the Jamdeal Website: This is more technical for you to imagine but it has to do with the development of the website. The overall operations on the website are constantly changing (to facilitate the needs of all our members) Any software that could cause complication on the Jamdeal site is banned.
Our Removal of Listings Clause: "Listings are not pre-screened for content therefore Jamdeal reserves the right to remove any listing that it deems unsuitable or in breach of terms and conditions.
